Hangar 2 17.09.2011

Hangar number 2 has been operational since March of this year, and serves as Qwest's Terminal for large volume passenger handling and to house our medium-category helicopters.

It has proven very advantageous to separate ourselves from usage of Fort Nelson airport's main terminal, and to use our own facility.  Our Hangar #2 boasts seating for sixty-plus passengers, coffee, snack, and cold beverage vending.

"From an operational standpoint, our ability to direct and monitor both in-coming and out-going passengers in an orderly fashion is of huge benefit and is entirely necessary when dealing with large volumes of traffic as we do.  Passengers will be able to avail themselves of our snacks and coffee while waiting for their flight as well as allowing us to list and weigh passengers and cargo or baggage.  Further to enhance safety, we have much safety briefing information on hand.  Passengers are briefed orally as a group prior to boarding, but we also have all our aircraft-specific safety information posted in the hangar and large flat-screen monitors to play safety and boarding information specific to the helicopter they will be transported in".

2nd Eurocopter Dauphin 21.02.2011

Qwest Helicopters Inc. is proud to announce that we have launched our 2nd Eurocopter AS 365 Dauphin Helicopter for the domestic utility/transport market in Northeast British Columbia.

"Final certification  is complete and we have introduced our second ship for twin-engine crew transport, VIP, and utility service to the northeast BC market" says company spokesman and training pilot Mike Koloff.

Mike adds, "Our first Dauphin came into service in the summer of 2010 and has proven itself to be a reliable, safe and useful tool for the high-volume crew transport sector in the Fort Nelson and Fort St. John areas, and Qwest has positioned itself well to adapt to the changing face of helicopter air service in these areas".

Qwest Helicopters Inc. is owned and operated by Cameron Allan, and Zvonko Dancevic, both long-term icons in the Fort Nelson area.  Qwest operates up to 16 helicopters between it's two bases and offers for service four types of helicopters, ranging from the venerable Bell 206 Jetranger, Eurocopter AS 350 'A-Stars' to the Bell 205 A-1 'Huey' and now the Eurocopter Dauphin series helicopters.
